Finneas, solo, at the Union; Utah Legislature ends its session; Heart plays Maverik Center.

March 2

Finneas, on his own

Most people know Finneas O’Connell, who records under his first name, for the music he’s made with his sister, Billie Eilish — work that has earned him 10 Grammys and two Academy Awards. Finneas also has released two solo albums, most recently “For Cryin’ Out Loud.” Finneas is on tour, and is scheduled to perform Sunday at the Union Event Center, 235 N. 500 West, Salt Lake City. Bad Suns is the supporting act. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at theunioneventcenter.com.

March 7

Utah Legislature winds up

Time to learn a Latin phrase: “sine die,” pronounced “SIGH-knee-dye” in America. It means “without a day,” and signifies something ending without a set time to start again. It’s how groups of lawmakers, such as the Utah Legislature, mark that the session is over. The current session is set to end Friday at midnight — and they do mean midnight, as Utah lawmakers aren’t allowed to stop the clock or pull tricks that previous generations have done. Keep reading The Salt Lake Tribune’s coverage of the Utah Legislature, to see what bills will make the cut before the clock strikes 12.

March 8

Heart, still keeping the beat

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductees Heart are set to headline Saturday at Maverik Center, 3200 Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City. The show makes up for a show scheduled for last September, which was delayed when Ann Wilson — who leads the ‘70s and ‘80s hitmaking band with her sister, Nancy — was diagnosed with cancer. Squeeze is the opening act. Show starts at 8 p.m., Tickets available at MaverikCenter.com.
