Warren Miller’s 75th year
Snow in the forecast is one sign that ski season is near. So is the arrival of the annual Warren Miller ski movie. Miller himself stopped making ski movies in the late 1980s, when he sold Warren Miller Entertainment to his son, Kurt, who’s been making them since. (Warren Miller died in 2018, at age 93.) The company is marking its 75th anniversary with a new movie, “Warren Miller’s 75,” which will tour theaters across northern Utah this week. (One of the scenes features snowboarding legend Shaun White and friends JJ Thomas and Toby Miller playing “can you top this?” at Park City.) Here’s the itinerary: Peery’s Egyptian Theater in Ogden on Monday; the Grand Theatre in Orem on Tuesday; the Ellen Eccles Theatre in Logan on Wednesday; The Depot in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday; and The Ray Theatre in Park City on Saturday.
