Unique Mother’s Day gifts

Looking for something one-of-a-kind to give your mom on Mother’s Day (which is May 12, if you haven’t been keeping track)? The Creators Collective Market — a pop-up market featuring small businesses, artists and makers from around Utah — is staging one of its events Friday, 2 to 7 p.m., at the Publik coffee shop, 975 S. West Temple, Salt Lake City. It’s free to attend.

May 3-4

All-nighter with the Skywalkers

Saturday is International Star Wars Day — because it’s May the 4th (as in “May the 4th Be With You”) — and the Megaplex Theatres are celebrating with a marathon of all nine of the “Skywalker Saga” films at the Megaplex Jordan Commons, 9335 S. State St., Sandy. The festivities start with check-in at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. The first movie, “The Phantom Menace” (which turns 25 this year), starts just after 10 p.m. Luke (spoiler alert!) will destroy the Death Star around 7:30 a.m. Saturday. And the ninth movie, “The Rise of Skywalker,” should be over around 8:40 p.m. Reserved seats are $49.95 each, with unlimited popcorn and Coca-Cola Freestyle drinks. Go to MegaplexTheatres.com for tickets, which are limited and will likely sell out.

May 3-18

Joan of Arc, and her mom

Joan of Arc is an icon for women, the French and devout Catholics. Jane Anderson’s play “Mother of the Maid” lets audiences hear what it might have been like to be her mom (played by April Fossen). Pygmalion Productions is staging the play for a run, starting Friday and running through May 18, in the Leona Wagner Black Box Theatre at the Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts, 138 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City. Tickets available at saltlakecountyarts.org.
