Singing carols in Delta Center
The 39th annual Christmas Carol Sing-Along is happening Monday, 7 p.m., at Delta Center, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. A tradition established by the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family, the free event allows people to gather in a large group and sing their hearts out, accompanied by Donny Gilbert and the West Valley Symphony, with special guest conductor Sterling Poulson. Yahosh Bonner, of the singing Bonner Family, is the guest emcee — and the special musical guests are the Utah folk-rock band The National Parks. Holiday treats and gift coupons are available while supplies last.

Bestor’s back
For some music lovers, it’s not Christmas in Utah without “A Kurt Bestor Christmas,” scheduled for Thursday through Saturday at the Eccles Theater, 131 S. Main St., Salt Lake City. The Utah composer and musician is marking the 30th anniversary of his landmark song “Prayer for the Children,” and will perform that along with his arrangements of holiday classics. Guest starring this year is Utah’s own David Archuleta. Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday, and 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available at live-at-the-eccles.com.

Santa and the symphony
Another holiday tradition: “Here Comes Santa Claus!,” the Utah Symphony’s annual kid-friendly matinee concert with a narrative played out by actors, and closing with a singalong — and an appearance by the guy in the red suit. It happens Saturday, 11 a.m., at Abravanel Hall, 123 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Tickets available at utahsymphony.org.
