Look Ahead: Local events and things to do this week, Nov. 26-Dec. 2

The 1975 at the Delta Center; a documentary about ‘The Star Wars Holiday Special’; and Craft Lake City’s holiday market in Ogden.

Nov. 26

It’s the 1975

The English pop-rock band The 1975 is scheduled to finish out Black Friday weekend with a concert Sunday at 7:30 p.m., at the Delta Center, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. The band is known for such hits as “The Sound,” “Somebody Else” and “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)” — though lead singer Matty Healy made his own headlines earlier this year, when he briefly dated pop icon Taylor Swift. (Swifties hated the pairing; Swift quickly moved on to football star Travis Kelce, of whom the fans seem to approve.) Bedroom-pop musician Dora Jar is the opening act. Tickets are available at deltacenter.com.

The holiday special strikes back

The Utah Film Center is throwing its own kind of Christmas party Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the City Library, 210 E. 400 South, Salt Lake City. The center will screen “A Disturbance in the Force,” a documentary about the making of one of pop culture’s strangest artifacts: 1978′s “The Star Wars Holiday Special.” Directors Jeremy Coon and Steve Kozak look at how the variety show — featuring stars Beatrice Arthur, Harvey Korman, Jefferson Starship and the first appearance of the bounty hunter Boba Felt — came to be made, and then disowned by creator George Lucas, never to air on TV again. The screening will be followed by an interview with Coon and Kozak, moderated by “RadioWest” host Doug Fabrizio. Moviegoers are encouraged to wear their best ugly sweater. Admission is free.

Dec. 1-2
