Secret menu lovers rejoice: Utah has a new In-N-Out location

The restaurant was built on the former site of the Greek restaurant Mad Greek.

If you’re craving a Double-Double hamburger, you’re in luck: The new In-N-Out Burger location, which has been under construction for months in South Salt Lake, is now open at 28 E. 2100 South.

Fast-food fans can expect a lot of hubbub around the opening of the location, which was built on the former site of the Greek restaurant Mad Greek.

Harry Snyder opened the first In-N-Out in 1948 in California. His drive-thru featured his own invention, the first two-way speaker box, which allowed customers to order and receive their meals without leaving their cars, according to the restaurant’s website. In 1954, In-N-Out’s iconic arrow made its first appearance on the restaurant’s sign. In 2023, In-N-Out opened its 400th store, in Meridian, Idaho.

With the opening of the South Salt Lake store, In-N-Out has 14 locations in Utah, in Riverdale, Washington City, Riverton, Centerville, Draper, West Valley City, Orem, West Jordan, American Fork, Midvale, Layton, Spanish Fork, Logan and now South Salt Lake.

The location is in a popular area for fast-food diners. Across 2100 South, there is a Subway, a Del Taco and a Jack in the Box. When the Jack in the Box opened in June 2023, its arrival caused traffic tie-ups that spilled out onto State Street.
