Hello, Eaters!

The 2025 Sundance Film Festival is happening now through Feb. 2, and as you duck into film premieres, peep at celebrities, and tromp up and down Park City’s Main Street, you’re probably going to get hungry.

Some Park City restaurants rent out to corporate sponsors during the festival and aren’t available for regular dining. But every year, the Park City Area Restaurant Association provides a list of the eateries that will be open for regular business hours, so you’re sure to find a spot that suits your taste. For more information, visit ParkCityRestaurants.com.

Dish of the Week

(Kolbie Peterson | The Salt Lake Tribune) The Black Forest ham and brie sandwich, along with a bowl of tomato basil soup, is shown at Carlucci's Bakery on Saturday, Jan. 18. 2025.

I was out running errands on a Saturday afternoon and feeling munchy, so I stopped in at Carlucci’s Bakery, at 314 W. 300 South in Salt Lake City. I couldn’t say no to a sandwich made with Black Forest ham and brie on a baguette, so I ordered a half with tomato basil soup. What a great combination of flavors, with the sweetness of the ham, the ripe funkiness of the brie, and the zinginess of the Dijon mustard on top. The textures in the sandwich were on point as well. The soup was delicious, a little sweet, a little savory, even if it was a little thick for my taste, and I appreciated the generous portion size. I also love Carlucci’s low-key, welcoming vibe.
