A sandwich shop is closing its second location in Salt Lake City less than six months after opening it, according to Instagram.
Deadpan Sandwich opened its original location in Woodbine Food Hall at 545 W. 700 South in the Granary District about two years ago. Last summer, Deadpan opened a second location in Sugar House at 556 E. 2100 South, in the south building of the Izzy Apartments. But in a weekend Instagram post, the sandwich shop’s two co-founders said that the Sugar House restaurant was closing “indefinitely.”
“By refocusing our energy into our original location at Woodbine Food Hall, we want to continue delivering the exceptional quality and experience we’ve been passionate about since the beginning,” the post said.
“Through this change, we aim to deepen our commitment to our craft, our team, and to you — our lovely customers,” the post continued.
Deadpan Sandwich’s menu includes sandwiches like the Oh Schnitzel!, made with pork schnitzel and ranch sauerkraut, and the Hot Chopped Cheese, made with a sausage patty, American cheese, bread & butter pickles, onion, tomato and mayo.
Last year, the Sugar House neighborhood saw the closures of SugarHouse Barbecue, By the Bucket spaghetti and The Locker Room.
