Where to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner in Utah — whether you’re staying in or going out

This list of options for sit-down meals and takeout feasts can help you plan a celebration to remember.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed when making Thanksgiving plans. If everyone is meeting at your place this year, that means cleaning, menu preparation, shopping, cooking, basting, serving and hosting. It can be a lot.

Thankfully (see what I did there?), there are a lot of professionals who make it their business to cook really good food, and can turn even the same old tired turkey and stuffing into something to celebrate.

Make it a little easier on yourself this year by holding your Thanksgiving meal at one of Utah’s many fabulous restaurants — or get a meal kit and heat it all up while enjoying your favorite beverage.

Either way, this list will help you sort through your options. But decide soon — reservations are going fast, both for sit-down options and takeout.

Takeout (Salt Lake County)

Orders must be placed by Thursday, Nov. 21, at 5 p.m. Orders can be picked up or delivered between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Nov. 26 and 27.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse • 20 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City (in The Gateway); 801-355-3704; flemingssteakhouse.com • Three-course bundles with herb-roasted turkey, filet mignon or bone-in rib-eye available ready to heat or ready to serve. All fully cooked, ready for simple reheating (instructions provided). Pickup is Wednesday, Nov. 27, between noon and 4 p.m. Order online via Tock. Price is $140 plus tax, serves two.
