To dew or not dew? Mountain Dew is making that question easier by giving a free soda to anyone stepping into the Mountain time zone.
But what about those who have already made the mountainscape their home?
Running until the end of this year, the campaign will reward visitors crossing into the Mountain time zone with a free 20-ounce Mountain Dew. Whether by plane, car, train or on foot, those trekking into any of the intermontane states can register and claim their “any flavor” coupon at WelcometoMTNTime.com. The soda offer, available for the first 35,000 requests, can only be redeemed once per registered email.
The Mountain time zone encompasses all of Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Montana and Wyoming, as well as all of southern Idaho, a bit of eastern Oregon, parts of western North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska, and the far western tip of Texas.
For people already living in Mountain time, further steps are needed to cash in on the limited time offer.
Like visitors, locals will need to exit and re-enter the Mountain time zone to receive their free coupon, according to a spokesperson for PepsiCo, Mountain Dew’s parent company. Residents cannot redeem their voucher by simply living in the zone.
Outsiders ready to fully embrace the mountain lifestyle can do so with further help from the soft drink company. Through a juried contest, Mountain Dew will reimburse up to $10,000 in moving fees, along with free Mountain Dew for a year and an outdoor gear welcome package.
The contest is available to five winners who now live outside the brand’s designated Mountain time zone boundary — which is specified in the contest rules as the states of Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico and Wyoming.
