Sandwich lovers, rejoice: Deadpan Sandwich is opening its first standalone location, this one located in Sugar House.
Deadpan Sandwich has had a stall in the Woodbine Food Hall, at 545 W. 700 South in Salt Lake City’s Granary District, for almost two years. According to a news release, they are opening a second location in the south building of the Izzy Apartments, at 556 E. 2100 South, and will be holding a grand opening for the restaurant Friday.
“With a passion for quality sandwiches and supporting local partners, we’re looking forward to growing and sharing our values with the community,” said Taylor Giullian, Deadpan’s co-founder and head chef, in a statement.
Some of the items on the menu at the new location include such Deadpan classics as the B.L.O.T. (made with bacon, lettuce, onion jam, pickled green tomato and pepper mayo) and The Big Tuna, made with house tuna salad.
According to Deadpan’s Instagram, breakfast will be served all day at the new location. The breakfast menu features sandos like the merguez (a heavily spiced sausage), egg and cheese, as well as more classic combos like the bacon, egg and cheese.
By the way, be on the lookout for more Deadpan Sandwich locations; the team is looking to expand in the future, the release said.
