The moms (and mother figures) in our lives have undoubtedly earned a day of thanks and celebration this year. These dedicated women put in extra hours every day as they juggle competing priorities. Mothers always make sure that those they love are cared for, so treat her to a celebration worthy of her efforts with brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert specials for Mother’s Day weekend.

Les Madeleines: Fraisier and Paris-Brest desserts

Salt Lake City’s quintessential French patisserie is baking up two show-stopping desserts to celebrate moms.

The Fraisier ($59) is a masterpiece of a vanilla cake filled with vanilla crème mousseline and diced strawberries macerated with orange zest and Grand Marnier. It’s topped with fresh strawberries and chocolate curls. And the gorgeous Paris-Brest ($49) cake, which Les Madeleines founder Chef Romina Rasmussen describes as “basically a giant creme puff,” is made with coconut mousseline. Both 8-inch cakes serve 10 to 12 guests, and individual servings of both desserts can also be ordered.

Les Madeleines will also offer a pan of take and bake cinnamon rolls ($24) that come with baking instructions and vanilla bean cream cheese frosting.

Mother’s Day orders must be placed online at lesmadeleines.com by May 4. All items will be available for pick up on May 8 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Les Madeleines at 216 E. 500 South in Salt Lake City.
