“The Chosen,” the popular TV series chronicling the life of Jesus, has revealed its first images of the crucifixion.

The show’s production company, 5&2 Studios, posted a teaser trailer Monday for the show’s eight-episode sixth season, which was partly filmed in Utah. The season — which will depict the arrest, trial and execution of Jesus, portrayed by Jonathan Roumie — will debut on Prime on Nov. 15.

The season, according to the studio’s news release, “captures the historic events of Jesus’ final day through the lives of those who loved him — and those who condemn him. Pharisees call it justice. Romans call it peace. Followers call it murder. But in the face of loneliness and death, Jesus stands resolute in his plan that has always led to one place: the cross.”

The show’s creator/writer/director, Dallas Jenkins, unveiled the teaser trailer in a livestream to fans Sunday, the release said. He also announced that a new album of music inspired by the show will be released this fall. The first single, “All I Need Is You,” by country star Tyler Hubbard, will be released Aug. 7.

Parts of Season 6 — particularly scenes set in Jerusalem — were shot in the summer of 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Motion Picture Studios South Campus, in Goshen in southern Utah County. Jenkins and his cast and crew returned to the Goshen campus in June to film Season 7, which will air in 2028.

In the Season 6 trailer, one can see scenes shot at Goshen of Jesus’ trial, and of the crowd before Pontius Pilate (Andrew James Allen), the Roman prefect who ultimately orders Jesus’ death. Other characters shown in the trailer include Jesus’ mother, Mary (Vanessa Benavente), and one of his most devoted followers, Mary Magdalene (Elizabeth Tabish).

The trailer ends with some of Jesus’ last words, shouting to God, “Father, forgive them.”

Three episodes of Season 6 will debut on Prime on Sunday, Nov. 15. New episodes will debut on the following Sundays through Dec. 6. The season finale will be shown as a feature film in theaters, opening March 12, 2027. Previous seasons of “The Chosen” can be streamed on Prime.
