Last laugh for ‘Pagliacci’

Utah Opera’s production of the classic opera “Pagliacci” — about a tragic love triangle set in a touring comedy troupe in Sicily — will have its final performance Sunday, 2 p.m., at the Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City. Tickets are available at UtahOpera.org.

Celebrating Celtic music

Two Utah bands team up to celebrate Celtic music, ahead of Monday’s observance of St. Patrick’s Day, with a show Sunday at the Alliance Theater at Trolley Square, 602 E. 500 South, Salt Lake City. The show, called “Bonny Celtic Moon,” features the long-running ensembles Shanahy and Stonecircle. The concert runs from 6 to 8 p.m.; there’s also a family-friendly workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. Tickets to the concert are $30, and tickets for the workshop are $20 (though people 16 and under can attend the workshop for free). Tickets are available at eventbrite.com.

Dancing into spring

The first day of spring is Thursday, March 20, so SALT Contemporary Dance’s “Spring 12” show isn’t missing the equinox by much. The program of contemporary dance works — choreographed by Rena Butler, Ching Ching Wong, Brandon Alley and Rachel Prince — is scheduled to be performed Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. each night, at the Mid Valley Performing Arts Center, 2525 W. Taylorsville Blvd., Taylorsville. Tickets, from $15 to $35, are available at ArtTix.org.
