The country band Rascal Flatts will make its debut as the headlining musical act for Stadium of Fire, the annual extravaganza of fireworks and patriotic displays at Provo’s LaVell Edwards Stadium.
The 2025 edition will happen on July 4, a Friday, organizers for America’s Freedom Festival announced Monday evening.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at stadiumoffire.com or at tickets.byu.edu. Subscribers to the Freedom Festival’s email will get to start buying tickets at 10 a.m.; the general public can purchase tickets at noon.
The event will include what’s billed as the nation’s largest stadium fireworks spectacle, as well as a drone show, a flyover of F-35 jets from Hill Air Force Base and “rousing tributes to military and civilian heroes,” according to a news release.
Rascal Flatts — made up of Jay DeMarcus, Gary LeVox and Joe Don Rooney — is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025. It’s also reuniting after a five-year hiatus. The band’s first performance back together happened on Jan. 20 in Washington, D.C., at a ball marking the inauguration of President Donald Trump.
The band’s first seven studio albums have reached platinum status. The group’s country hits include “These Days,” “Mayberry,” “Bless the Broken Road,” “Fast Cars and Freedom,” “Here Comes Goodbye” and “Banjo,” among others. Non-country fans will recognize the band’s 2006 cover of Tom Cochrane’s 1991 song “Life Is a Highway,” recorded for the soundtrack of the Pixar movie “Cars.”
