The next season of touring Broadway shows at Salt Lake City’s Eccles Theater won’t just feature performers onstage, but several items flying above it — a crashing chandelier, a flying DeLorean and acrobatic Christmas icons.
Eight touring productions — highlighted by a three-week run of the Andrew Lloyd Webber audience favorite “Phantom of the Opera” — are scheduled for the 2025-2026 season, the booking company Broadway Across America announced Tuesday.
Musicals adapted from movies are also featured, including productions of “Some Like It Hot,” “Back to the Future” and “Water for Elephants.”
Also on the slate: The Neil Diamond jukebox musical “A Beautiful Noise”; Alicia Keys’ musical autobiography “Hell’s Kitchen”; “Suffs,” a musical about the women who fought for the right to vote; and “Twas the Night Before,” Cirque du Soleil’s holiday-themed spectacle.
Two more shows are being featured as add-ons to the season package: “Clue,” a comedy based on the 1985 movie that’s based on the classic board game; and “Hadestown,” the acclaimed musical that adapts Greek mythology into a musical romance.
Current subscribers to Broadway at the Eccles are automatically renewed at the launch of the new season, ensuring their seats for another year. Subscribers also will have first access to “Clue” and “Hadestown” tickets.
People wanting to become new season-ticket holders will be able to sign up in May. Those interested also are encouraged to join the Eccles waitlist now. Go to saltlakecity.broadway.com for subscription information.
