A progressive, psychedelic jam band is set to perform as part of the Red Butte Garden summer concert series — the second band announced for this summer’s schedule of shows.
The band Goose is scheduled to play at Red Butte on Wednesday, Sept. 20, the concert series announced Tuesday.
Tickets for the show go on sale to the public on Friday at 10 a.m., and to Red Butte Garden members on Thursday at 10 a.m. People seeking to become members in time to buy tickets must buy their membership — at Garden-Flex level or higher — by noon Wednesday. Go to redbuttegarden.org/concerts for information and to buy tickets.
Goose hails from Norwalk, Connecticut, and formed in 2016. The band is known for its improvisation skills, which include the performances it gave during the COVID-19 pandemic — including shows at drive-in theaters in the Northeast, Midwest and mid-Atlantic. The band released its third album, “Dripfield,” last June.
The Goose show is the second concert of Red Butte’s summer season to be announced so far. The first — featuring Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade with opening act Fishbone on May 23 — sold out shortly after being announced.
Red Butte is scheduled to announce its full summer slate in mid-April.
