Gallery: Utahns paint the town green at St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival

The parade happened on Saturday, in advance of Friday’s holiday.

The Gateway in Salt Lake City hosted its St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival on Saturday, in advance of Friday’s holiday.

The parade began at 200 South and 600 West, traveling east on Rio Grande and then through The Gateway mall.

The festival featured Irish cuisine and a siamsa — or folk entertainment — on two stages.

The musical performers scheduled for the event included Pladdohg, Murphy and the Giant, Shanahy, An Rogaire Dubh and more.

Dance performances were by Scariff School, Legacy Irish Dance, Harp Irish Dance and Rinceoiri Don Spraoi.
