Longtime KSL radio talk-show host Doug Wright has announced he’s stepping down from his Monday-Friday show, although he’s not altogether signing off from the station.
The last edition of “The Doug Wright Show” will air June 1, which is also Wright’s 40th anniversary at the radio station. According to a release from KSL, Wright will continue as a “special news consultant and correspondent, providing insight and commentary on top news stories for both KSL-TV and KSL Newsradio.” And he will continue to host the “KSL Movie Shows” on Friday mornings on 1160 AM.
“Doug Wright is synonymous with KSL,” KSL general manager Tanya Vea said in a statement. “His show is the place where thought leaders go to talk and tune in to listen. Doug’s insights and interviews have made a significant impact in this state. He is an irreplaceable part of the KSL legacy.”
On Monday, “The Doug Wright Show” will be shortened from three hours to two — 9-11 a.m. — and will be followed from 11 a.m.-noon by “Dave and Dujanovic,” hosted by sports producer Dave Noriega and reporter Debbie Dujanovic. Beginning June 2, the new show will expand to three hours and air 9 a.m.-noon, Mondays-Thursdays.
