Los Angeles • Win or go home were the options facing the Utah Jazz on Sunday.

And, frankly, it posed a conundrum: How much should they pack?

Bringing a wardrobe that would last a week might have been presumptuous. For a couple of Jazzmen, it also didn't suit their superstitions.

"A couple of our guys did, a couple didn't," forward Joe Ingles said with a laugh. "I'm too laid back to worry about that. I just focused on the game. But I've got all my stuff.

"I'm not going to throw any names out there, but there are a couple of guys who will be going shopping when we get to San Fran."

Rudy Gobert and Boris Diaw both said they packed for an extended trip.

"Obviously," Diaw said.

So, too, did guard Rodney Hood.

"It's confidence," he said. "My wife was telling me to just pack for one day. I said, 'Nah, we're going to Oakland.' That's my mindset. I packed for a long time."

Bringing the energy

Dante Exum played eight minutes in Game 7, missing both of his shots offensively.

But he made an impact in other phases of the game, grabbing two rebounds and handing out two assists. He also provided valuable defense on Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford while George Hill caught a breather.

"I just wanted to come in and play with energy and give it all I had in my time on the floor," Exum said. "It didn't matter how long I was going to be out there. I wanted to play well in that time."

Emptying the bench

Quin Snyder used 12 players Sunday because of foul trouble, including all four point guards and all three centers on the active roster.

Trey Lyles was the lone Utah player who didn't see playing time. Utah's bench produced 38 points, led by Derrick Favors' 17.

"The old adage is you have to be ready," Snyder said. "I thought that was true tonight and I thought we had a lot of guys that were ready."

Injury issue

There is the possibility the Jazz shut down guard Alec Burks for the remainder of the playoffs, league sources tell The Tribune.

Burks has been on the inactive list for most of the first round. He received a platelet rich plasma injection in his left knee before Game 3 of the first round, and has been sidelined since.
