Brighton quarterback Drew Jensen may have suffered another season-ending injury. The senior who is committed to playing at BYU will find out whether he tore his PCL on Friday, and he will miss the Bengals' game against Fremont.
The injury occurred on the second play from scrimmage in Brighton's win against Herriman in the season opener Aug. 21. The injury is on the knee opposite of the one he tore his ACL, which cost him most of his junior season in 2014. He finished the duration of the game against the Mustangs.
"It was kind of a fluke play," Jensen said. "It's not fun, but the best thing to do now is to be positive. That's really all you can do, as hard as that sounds. We don't really know any final news yet, but as of right now, I've got to be positive and hopefully everything will work out."
Jensen has struggled to stay healthy at Brighton. After starting at quarterback as a freshman, he helped the Bengals begin 5-0 as a sophomore before breaking his wrist. He finished the 2013 season with 10 rushing touchdowns while playing multiple positions.
