Locals in the NFL: The BYU, Utah, USU and SUU players who made initial 53-man rosters

Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers and Oakland Raiders feature rosters with most players with Utah ties.

After a swift cut down from 90 players to 53, NFL teams have set initial rosters for the season. 

Here’s a breakdown of which players from BYU, Utah, Utah State and Southern Utah secured their spot on a team as of Sunday morning.

AFC West

Denver Broncos: Offensive tackle Garett Bolles (Utah), running back Devontae Booker (Utah). 

Kansas City Chiefs: Quarterback Alex Smith (Utah), safety Daniel Sorensen (BYU). 

Los Angeles Chargers: Offensive tackle Sam Tevi (Utah), defensive tackle Tenny Palepoi (Utah/on reserve/suspended list).

Oakland Raiders: Offensive tackle Donald Penn (Utah State), defensive back Keith McGill (Utah), cornerback Sean Smith (Utah), LB/DE James Cowser (Southern Utah).

NFC West

Arizona Cardinals: Running back Kerwynn Williams (Utah State), linebacker Alani Fua (BYU/on reserve/injured list).

Los Angeles Rams: Safety Maurice Alexander (Utah State), defensive back Dominique Hatfield (Utah), offensive guard J.J. Dielman (Utah). 

San Francisco 49ers: Offensive guard Zane Beadles (Utah), linebacker Pita Taumoepenu (Utah), running back Joe Williams (Utah/on reserve/injured list). 

Seattle Seahawks: Linebacker Bobby Wagner (Utah State).

AFC North
