New York • Chicago Cubs pitcher Pedro Silverio has been suspended for 50 games following a positive test for metabolites of Stanozolol under baseball's minor league drug program.

The 18-year-old right-hander is on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Cubs.

The suspension Tuesday raised the total this year under the minor league program to 13.
