Off to a great start and led by the nation's leading scorer, Weber State hosts San Jose State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.

The game will be the second half of a doubleheader with the WSU women hosting San Jose State at 5 p.m.

Weber State is coming off a split at the Saint Mary's Shamrock Office Solutions Classic on Sunday and Monday. The Wildcats got off to their best start since 1986 with a 69-61 defeat of Jacksonville State 69-61. Monday night, WSU lost for the first time this year, falling 87-70 at Saint Mary's in the tournament's championship game.

Weber State junior point guard Damian Lillard had the scoring touch and is first in the country in scoring. Lillard averaged 29.5 points a game in Weber State's two games at the Saint Mary's Tournament. The Oakland, Calif., native scored 23 points in Sunday's 69-61 win over Jacksonville State, then tied his career-high with 36 points in Monday's loss, including 26 points in the second half.

For the week Lillard was 18-32 from the field, shooting 46 percent and was 5-12 from three-point land. He also was 18-22 from the free throw line and averaged five rebounds and two assists a game.

On the season Lillard is averaging 25.6 points per game, which leads the nation in scoring. He has scored 20 or more points in four of five games for the 'Cats this season.

This week he also moved into 10th place on the WSU career scoring list with 1,280 points in 76 career games.
