Each weekday morning I face the same conundrum: If I walk to work, I'm exposing myself to the nasty air and possibly giving myself some lung disease. If I drive, I'm adding to the problem, but at least my eyes aren't stinging on the way.

I usually take the bus, which involves a hike through the smog to get from the stop to my office, and the bus surely emits more particulates than my Prius anyway. What's a Utahn to do?

I'm begging the state Legislature to take some action this session. Our air quality will simply not improve by good will alone. It will require actual regulation of individuals and corporations.
