Conservatives win big with Judge Robert Shelby's ruling that opens the doors to gay marriage ("Judge denies AG's request to halt same-sex marriages," Tribune, Dec. 23).

Never again can big government trample the rights of people to marry as their conscience dictates. Nevermore shall a majority of so-called conservative voters, who approved Utah's constitutional amendment that defined marriage, be able to use government as the vehicle to trample the rights of people they don't agree with.

A double win for true conservative values. Amen!
