I own a small engineering business and have lived in Utah for 12 years. While traveling recently, I was told by some engineering colleagues: "We have considered moving to Utah many times, but have heard the air quality is very poor."
My response was factual: The air is terrible. If you care about the health of your family and your employees, do not move your business here.
The Legislature now wants to have control of federal land to pollute the environment even further. New permits for refinery expansions are being approved; EPA regulations are actively opposed.
Anyone who questions these flawed environmental policies is called an extremist by legislators and the governor.
Gov. Gary Herbert, please say something meaningful about this issue at your upcoming Utah Economic Summit on April 11. Many engineers and scientists stand willing to help you, but you need to listen.
