A California tech millionaire is facing charges in Utah for allegedly beating up a reality TV star during the Sundance Film Festival.

Prosecutors charged Patrick Henry, 51, last month in Summit County's justice court with assault, damage to a communication device and criminal mischief, all class B misdemeanors.

The charges came after Henry allegedly beat up Ariane Bellamar, a star of ABC Family's "Beverly Hills Nannies." The altercation happened Jan. 23 at Henry's home in Summit County, according to prosecutors.

Henry also is suspected of ripping Bellamar's phone from her hand and throwing it on the ground as she called 911. He currently serves as the CEO of Entropic Communications, a publicly traded San Diego company offering "solutions for the connected home."

Bellamar declined to comment on the facts of the case Wednesday, saying only that her recovery has been "slow and devastatingly painful." However, in the past she has said that Henry was doing shots the night of the attack and became jealous when Bellamar drew attention from his friends. Later, she said, Henry dragged her out of bed by her hair, threw her to the ground in the garage and repeatedly slammed her into a concrete wall.

Photos Bellamar shared with Radar Online show bruises along her left thigh.

A spokesperson for Henry denied the allegations Wednesday, calling them inconsistent and saying Henry did not attack Bellamar.

"Ms. Bellamar had been drinking heavily and was intoxicated before dinner; she continued to drink during and after dinner," the spokesperson said in an email. "We are confident that when the facts come out, they will validate that Mr. Henry neither attacked nor assaulted her."

Entropic spokeswoman Chris Fallon said Wednesday that the company's board "is aware Patrick Henry entered a not guilty plea to the charges brought against him. It remains business as usual at Entropic and we remain focused on our strategic priorities."

Henry's case has been playing out in the tabloid press since January. Shortly after the alleged assault, Bellamar told Radar Online she met Henry online and went with him to Park City fora romantic getaway. One day before the alleged assault, Bellamar was apparently enjoying the trip and tweeted praise for Park City:

Park City is #amazing!! :) #sundance2014 xo pic.twitter.com/6vszsUq94l

After the story broke several days later, however, Bellamar tweeted that the ordeal was "terrifying."

Thank you all for your support & concern. It gives me strength as I attempt to recover from the single most terrifying event of my life :(

The story later was picked up by The Daily Mail and the L.A. Times.

Henry's next court appearance is scheduled for May 13. A one-day jury trial is scheduled for June 19.
