Huffing teen crashes car into Utah house
A 17-year-old driver and two passengers who allegedly were huffing an aerosol can crashed into a Riverton house Friday afternoon after the driver lost consciousness.
Unified Police Detective Levi Hughes said the three 17-year-old boys were headed south on Redwood Road in a Ford Contour when the driver passed out while huffing a can of air duster, commonly used to clean office supplies.
Hughes said all three were inhaling the chemicals at the time of the crash.
The driver veered to the east at the intersection with 13400 South, drove onto a corner lawn and hit a garage about 2 p.m. The car partially went through the garage door and also damaged the attached house.
No one was home, Hughes said.
The boys were not seriously injured.
Hughes said the driver was cited with driving under the influence, and his passengers were released to their parents.
