Residents of the Genola-Santaquin area awoke to a minor earthquake early Friday morning.

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations confirmed the region shook at 12:14 a.m. with a temblor registering a magnitude of 2.8.

The quake was centered at a spot two miles east of Genola, two miles northwest of Santaquin, three miles west of Spring Lake and four miles southwest of Payson.

No damages were reported, but the quake was felt by residents in the area.
