Snowy roads and gusting winds were believed factors in a Tuesday morning crash that critically injured a 20-year-old Tremonton woman near Bear River.
Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said the accident occurred on State Road 30 at 8:38 a.m. The woman was westbound when she lost control of her Chevrolet Cobalt and spun into the path of an eastbound Chevrolet Uplander minivan. The resulting head-on collision T-boned the Cobalt on its driver's side.
Camille Trimble, who suffered critical severe head injuries, and 28-year-old Katie Winkler, who was driving the minivan were transported to the hospital. Winkler, also of Tremonton, was in serious condition with broken legs.
The accident brought travel through the area to a crawl for about an hour while wreckage was cleared away.
