Salt Lake City police are seeking the public's help in the arrest of a gunman suspected in at least three convenience-store robberies on Christmas Eve.

The first of the holdups occurred about 7:15 p.m. at a 7-Eleven store, 309 E. 400 South. Police say a white man, 6 feet tall with a thin build and wearing all black — including a hooded sweatshirt and ski mask — showed a handgun to the clerk and demanded cash. He left on foot, walking westbound.

About 20 minutes later, the same robber is believed to have held up another 7-Eleven at 705 E. Third Ave. He also is suspected of having struck a third time at 8 p.m., robbing a Tesoro clerk at 874 E. 1300 South.

No shots were fired and no injuries reported.

Anyone with information about the robber or the robberies is asked to call police at 801-799-3000.
