Acting on tips generated by security camera images, Unified Police Department detectives have arrested a suspect in Monday's robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank in Magna.
UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said that after the photographs appeared on The Salt Lake Tribune website and other news sources, detectives were tipped that the suspect was a 52-year-old Magna man.
He was located at a Magna residence near 2800 S. and 8900 West Monday night and arrested.
The suspect was being held at the Salt Lake County jail on Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bail on suspicion of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
Hoyal said a man matching the man's description came into the Magna Wells Fargo branch office, at 8295 W. 3500 South, about 11 a.m. Monday. He handed a note to a teller claiming he had a weapon and demanding cash, though no gun was seen.
The clerk complied and the suspect fled the bank on foot.
Arriving officers searched the area but could not find the suspect.
No one was injured.
