Orem police are looking for a man who allegedly faked a vehicle breakdown to lure a woman into a sexual assault.

Orem police Sgt. Craig Martinez said Wednesday that the rape occurred about 9:15 p.m. on Monday in the dark parking lot of a Cinemark movie theater at 1010 S. 800 East.

The woman had just left the theater when she saw the suspect, apparently dealing with a mechanical breakdown involving his full-sized pickup truck. He was using a flashlight and had the hood of the vehicle up. When the woman offered to help, he handed her the flashlight and then suddenly threw her head into the side of the truck and raped her.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot white male, about 30 years old, with a medium build, blond hair and a mustache. He was wearing a black shirt with an orange and yellow design, jeans and a black cowboy boots. His vehicle was either dark blue or dark green in color.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Orem police at 801-229-7070.
