A 15-year-old Holladay girl was in critical condition Thursday night, the day after she was struck by a car in a skateboard-related accident at 3900 South and 1950 East.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the girl apparently lost control of her skateboard while riding on a sidewalk, and the board spun into traffic. She was hit by a westbound Honda car about 8 p.m. when she tried to retrieve the skateboard.

The accident remained under investigation. No citations had been issued.

Hoyal said the girl, who suffered head and leg injuries, was transported to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City.
