How will Gordon Hayward follow up his career night against the Thunder?
Right now, that remains very much in question.
The Jazz swingman, who scored 37 points, including his team's final 17, in Tuesday's win over Oklahoma City, will be a game time-decision tonight against Cleveland because of a hip flexor strain, team officials say.
"That means somebody else is going to have to step up for him. You don't want to see guys go down, but if he doesn't play somebody got to step up for him," forward Derrick Favors said.
At 17.1 points per game, Hayward is the team's leading scorer and one of three players who has yet to miss a game this year.
Favors, second on the team at 13.5 points a night, said he feels ready to shoulder the extra burden if the team needs him to.
"Yeah. If it comes to that, I can do it," he said.
Hayward was a partial participant in shootaround Friday morning before leaving EnergySolutions Arena to see a doctor.
"He did a little bit," Jazz forward Marvin Williams said. "Obviously he didn't look like his normal self. But he did a little bit. Hopefully he'll rest up this afternoon and be back out there tonight."
