Memphis, Tenn. • The Jazz blew a double-digit first half lead and lost their third game on the road, falling 103-94 to the Grizzlies on a night full of energy for the Memphis franchise.

With Commissioner David Stern in the seats for the Grizzlies' home opener, the Jazz led by 12 points in the first quarter, but needed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Mo Williams to stay ahead of Memphis at halftime.

Five Jazz players scored in double figures, led by 17 from Gordon Hayward. But the Jazz could not keep up with the Grizzlies, who had a balanced night of their own, led by 22 points from Marc Gasol, who became persona non grata among Jazz fans with a flagrant foul on Randy Foye with three seconds remaining.

A 3-pointer by Mike Conley with 2:48 remaining is just about the last straw for the Jazz, who return home to play the revamped Lakers on Wednesday.
