Since Aggies basketball player Danny Berger collapsed, fans have been hunting for updates on his status. There haven't been many as Berger continues his treatment at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. Doctors are still unclear on what caused the episode.

But on Wednesday afternoon, John Berger and Lauren Berger, Danny's older siblings spoke out for the first time publicly since their brother was hospitalized.

They took time to thank the family's supporters and those who helped treat Danny, particularly athletic trainer Mike Williams.

The full text of the short statement is below:

"My name is John Berger; I'm Danny Berger's older brother. I've prepared a statement for an update on Danny and our family. I am not prepared to answer questions that aren't answered in my statement.

Yesterday, Danny collapsed during practice, and we are still unsure of the reason for it. As of right now, things are looking good. He's waking up and responding the way the doctors want him to.

We want to think everyone for their thoughts and prayers. I know that you have made a difference in keeping my brother alive. We are so thankful for everyone who has been so kind and willing to help in any way. Thanks to the medical staff here at Intermountain Medical Center, at Logan Regional Hospital, and Danny's teammates and coaching staff. Most of all, than you to Mike Williams, the Utah State University trainer who was at practice when Danny collapsed. He saved my brother's life, and I thank God for him."
