Contaminated wastewater from oil and gas mining along the Colorado border is flowing into evaporation ponds in Utah, endangering wildlife and releasing toxic chemicals into the air.

On Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., Utah Division of Air Quality director Bryce Bird and former Grand County Commissioner Chris Baird, now of the Canyonlands Watershed Council, join Jennifer Napier-Pearce to talk about why the Grand County violations went unregulated for years and how widespread the environmental issues could be as mining expands in Utah.
