Today's 2014 Sundance Film Festival trailer is a story about friendship, and the frayed bonds that grow weaker and stronger with time.

John D. Harkrider directed and is featured in "All the Beautiful Things," which centers on a conversation Harkrider and his friend Barron Claiborne have in a New York jazz club. The two talk about the one incident that caused a years-long rift in their friendship — an event depicted with black-and-white illustrations. Meanwhile, a live band plays and a stunning bartender listens and comments on the men's stories.

"All the Beautiful Things" will screen in the U.S. Documentary competition of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Its first screening is Monday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m. at the Temple Theatre in Park City.
