New Riverton High basketball coach Skyler Wilson played high school basketball for the Jordan District school and went on to play college ball at CEU and Lewis Clark State College in Idaho. But he never thought he would coach.

Wilson was named Thursday to be only the second basketball coach Riverton has had since it opened . He replaces Steve Galley, who coached Wilson when he was part of the school's first graduating class in 2000.

"I had a series of jobs that made me look into what I really wanted to do, and nothing really stuck," Wilson said Friday. "I never found anything that I loved. So I threw money out of the equation and thought about the passion of what I would like to do. So I joined his [Galley's] staff as a J.V. coach in 2004."

Wilson's father Mark coached basketball at Cyprus for 15 years.
