Republican 4th District candidate Mia Love was in Ohio this weekend, campaigning for Mitt Romney in a battleground state that is considered by many to be a must-win if Romney is to win the White House.
Love spoke to the Republican Women of Ohio on Saturday and then made appearances at two Romney call centers in Cleveland before returning home early Sunday morning.
"It was the perfect weekend. [The Romney campaign] called and asked her to go, so she's going to go. She's going to support him," said Ivan DuBois, a senior advisor on the campaign. "Getting him elected is — I don't want to say it's more important than getting herself elected — but its important to her.
DuBois said that the weekend was a good time to make the trip, because there was hardly any campaigning going on in Utah because of LDS General Conference.
Three weeks ago, Love was in Las Vegas making a similar campaign stop for Romney in a few of the campaign's call centers there.
There aren't any plans for her to make any more trips before the November election — DuBois said the Romney campaign understands she's got a race of her own — but if she is called she will do what she can to get there.
Ohio has been pegged by analysts as the most crucial battleground state on the map. A new poll out today shows Romney with a small lead there, although President Barack Obama has been ahead for several months.
