The Holladay Arts Council will be holding its first Blue Moon Festival in the new Holladay Village Center Plaza (4660 S. 2300 East).A Blue Moon occurs when a month has a second full moon, which occurs only once every 3 years. This rare event happens August 31, and the festival plans on having telescopes available.There will be a beer/wine garden (sponsored in part by Blue Moon Belgian Ale), dancing with the 7-piece Zion Tribe world music band and the 9-piece soul band "The Sensations."

There will also be a free children's activity center, arts & crafts and food vendors, and produce from the locally grown Community Garden.

The event will be between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
