Letter: The GOP has departed from sanity. I have become a Democrat because of Trump.

Amid global turmoil and domestic chaos, it is time to declare where we stand.

Do you support reason and the law? Or do you follow the moral judgments of the president, who has none? Do you continue to endorse the decline of national values, or are you ready to proclaim enough is enough?

To this end, I openly declare I am a Democrat because Donald J. Trump is a Republican.

I am a Democrat because I believe the law is essential. I will vote Democrat because Trump chose JD Vance, Pam Bondi, RFK, Jr, Kristi Naom, Pete Hegseth, and similar inept loyalists to run the government.

I am not a Republican because I support the gallant people of Ukraine against the invasion of their country by a despot who kills his opponents in the Gulag or with radioactive tea in London. Similarly, I oppose any attempt to emulate Putin’s aggression by taking action against Greenland.

I reject the POTUS and Stephen Miller’s fatal brutality executed by their private ICE army. I oppose the Republican silence as Trump pardons Jan. 6 insurrectionists, convicted foreign drug lords, frauds, and cheats while enriching himself and his family with their giant airplane and crypto bribes.

As the Republican Party departed from sanity, I remain committed to supporting the less advantaged people of the world through USAID, providing Americans experiencing poverty with subsidized health insurance, and the belief that this earth is worth saving from the calamities of human alterations of the environment.

I have become a Democrat as the president’s emotional immaturity demands his name and face be plastered over everything that does not move.

I am tired to the point of exhaustion of Trump’s lies, cruelty, amorality, corruption, and self-promotion.

Stand up. Join me, become a peaceful protesting Democrat now, and on Election Day.
