Having lived in Utah for more than four decades, I've heard many Democrats and liberals alike claim that their votes don't count and their voices are not heard. I must admit I've said it myself a few times through the years.
Finally, after years of silence, these stifled voices where given an open forum in The Salt Lake Tribune’s daily opinion page to speak their political views, but only if they insult the president of the United States, his administration and, at the lowest, his family, not to mention fellow citizens who supported him in the election.
If memory serves me correctly, he won the state of Utah, so it makes me wonder why The Tribune felt the need to add so many op-ed writers who obviously hold deep-seeded hatred, not only for the president but, at times, the very country itself.
From what's being printed, only one-sided opinions are being heard. I suppose what's good for the goose is good for the gander but, after two and a half years of these silent voices being heard, I'm sorry but I liked them better when I didn't know what they were thinking. Sometimes silence is golden.
Freedom of speech is one of America’s greatest gifts. It is a right and privilege, but it's never been free and would never be allowed in a socialistic America, so be careful what one wishes for with this gift because you might just get a Bernie Sanders. Now that should scare everyone.
I'm not afraid of President Trump in the White House. What scares me is when we don't have a Donald Trump in the White House. If America ever needed a healthy dose of Uncle Sam Kool-Aid, now would be a good time.
I think their serving some on Fox where everyone has a voice.
