On June 11, Thomas Burr posted an article on The Salt Lake Tribune website on the consequences of the shutdown of the federal government last Christmastime.
The shutdown was tough on workers, their families and friends, who had to undergo untold stress, financial loss and anxiety during a time when people were wishing others peace, joy and good will.
Federal workers are the backbone of government services, who are reliable and faithful employees. What did they do to be punished by President Donald Trump? What were the consequences to the president and his Utah political supporters?
Innocent people suffered and there was no price to pay on the part of the political entities who backed the shutdown.
Burr writes that ways need to be found so that the region can prepare for future shutdowns. My answer would be to replace the president, the punish master, along with those who supported his actions.
