Letter: Since, as Noel shows, it’s OK to break law I don’t like, his land is my land

(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Rep. Mike Noel, R-Kanab, in the House Chamber in Salt Lake City, Tuesday Feb. 13, 2018.

I really like the look of the land Mike Noel owns in what used to be the Bears Ears National Monument. (Strange he didn’t think to tell the rest of us about this nice little chunk of real estate.) I think I’ll just go build a house there.

It’s not as if he hasn’t given me permission. He’s made it very clear that, according to him, we all ought to have the right to break any law we don’t like. Why change a law when you can just break it instead?

I’ve got friends who won’t do business in Kanab for that very reason. Besides, they fear there must be a lot of stark-raving lunatics down there: They keep electing Mike Noel.
