Tonya Christensen (“Democracy in decay,” Public Forum, Dec. 24), you being a college graduate in political science, I can tell you think you know what’s best for America, not America itself.

I’m an American citizen who’s here to tell you that your way of thinking and the ideas the colleges are turning out now are what’s wrong in our country. America has seen this and responded by electing a president who won’t bow to other world leaders, won’t pay ransom to other countries or trade known terrorists for traitors and put our security at greater risk.

I think America needs to change the path it has been on for the past several years and get back to being hard-nosed about putting America first.
