I have been no fan of Sen. Mike Lee, but I was encouraged that he conducted his re-election campaign with the dignity that should become a United States senator. He took his opponent seriously and treated her and her ideas with respect.

I have also been pleasantly surprised by Rep. Mia Love's willingness to work for us without unnecessary fanfare and partisanship. I am disheartened that Lee and Love, as members of the Utah delegation, have to be the "adults in the room."

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, particularly, has been an embarrassment to many of his fellow Utahns. We have become weary of his self-promotion and grandstanding. One would think that he learned, while studying fine arts and football at BYU, that piling-on a defeated opponent is classless. We can only hope that his overt ambition for Sen. Orrin Hatch's seat will be thwarted by former Gov. Jon Huntsman, who behaves in a more-adult fashion and will relegate Chaffetz to a permanent political time-out corner.
