A headline on the front page of the July 22 Salt Lake Tribune reads, "Utahns may not like Trump but they will vote for him." Surprise!

Utah is a male Republican dominant society and voting for a woman — let alone a Democratic woman — is strictly taboo.

We all know that Olene Walker was a great interim governor but was passed over because she was a woman. Many Americans will never vote for a woman just for the fact that they are prejudiced! Many American women would never vote for a woman just because of the jealousy factor. Everyone who worked in a place where both sexes are employed knows that there is tremendous jealousy between women employees. When a qualified woman gets promoted there is often the whispering by other women like, "I wonder what qualities she has displayed in order to get the promotion?"

Here in Utah women are second-class citizens and have to depend on males in order to succeed. Even in religion many women need male approval to get into heaven.

It will take a change in attitude by society to improve that mindset and for that we need a miracle.
